From Our World to Yours

With the impending birth of Lil' Lurie (this will be how he is referred to until his arrival) we thought it would be a good idea to start a way to let everyone know what's going on in good ole Funfax.

As I write this, I am just about at 2
2 weeks pregnant. Each day brings us closer to meeting our son and brings us closer together. The creation a life between us has certainly brought our relationship to a new level. We are quite fortunate to have each other and we thank the lucky stars daily.

I feel pretty good; pregnancy certainly has been most positive than negative for me. I have relatively few mo
od swings (although I'm sure Thad would disagree), my food cravings aren't anything bizarre (no pickles with ice cream for me, thanks. Just give me some pizza!), and I am growing in a healthy rate. At my 20 week appointment I had gained 10 pounds since I got pregnant. My doctor said, "My goal for you is to gain 1/2 a pound per week until you deliver." My response: "Sure thing, doc." Fast forward 5 minutes. Did I just agree to gain only 10 more pounds until the baby is born? Well geez. Way to take the fun out of "eating for two." :)

As far as care during pregnancy, not only do I have the world's most supportive husband, but I joined a water aerobics class with another pregnant lady, and Thad got me a prenatal yoga session for Christmas. I have been walking the dogs when it's not 10 degrees outside and in general, I feel pretty darn good.

The registry is slowly coming along and the baby's room has been emptied and spackled. Hopefully we can prime and paint this coming weekend.

That's it for today. I'm sure I'll have more but right now I have the attention span of a gnat and the memory of an ant (assuming ants don't have a good memory). I blame it on the
pregnancy hormones.

Until next time....

I leave you here with our boy's first picture.
